In May of 1983, Brian joined his dad on the production of The Muppets Take Manhattan. Brian quickly became indispensable on the sets of his father’s productions. By the time he was 17, he was working on projects like the marionettes in the complicated bicycle scene in The Great Muppet Caper. In his early years, Brian regularly joined his father Jim Henson on set when he was a child. He is also a technological innovator and skilled puppeteer. Lisa graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Folklore and Mythology from Harvard University, where she was the first female president of The Harvard Lampoon.īrian Henson is Chairman of the Board of The Jim Henson Company and an award-winning director, producer, and writer for film and television. Before joining Columbia Pictures, Lisa served as an executive at Warner Bros. Prior to her current position, Lisa was President of Columbia Pictures where she oversaw a string of critical and commercial successes including Little Women (1994), Immortal Beloved, and Ang Lee’s Oscar®-winning Sense and Sensibility. She is currently developing the highly anticipated sequel to the classic fantasy film Labyrinth, and The Conductors in partnership with Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment. Lisa’s feature credits include Sony Pictures Animation’s The Star, Disney’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, as well as MirrorMask, The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, Good Boy!, and Henson Alternative’s The Happytime Murders. Lisa’s many television credits include the Emmy®-winning series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and the popular Word Party, both for Netflix, as well as the Emmy-nominated PBS KIDS series Sid the Science Kid, Dinosaur Train, and Splash and Bubbles. She is currently in production on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio for Netflix and the feature film The Portable Door. She is most recently serving as executive producer for the new Apple TV+ series Harriet the Spy and the reboot of Fraggle Rock. The Center for Puppetry Arts' mission is to inspire imagination, education and community through the global art of puppetry.As CEO of The Jim Henson Company, Lisa Henson oversees all television and feature film production, from early development through post-production. The Education Department provides workshops, puppet-building activities and community outreach, and the award-winning Distance Learning program presents virtual workshop and puppet shows. The museum has the largest collection of Jim Henson puppets and artifacts anywhere in the world a global collection outlining puppetry traditions from around the world and a rotating special exhibit focusing on such topics as Labyrinth and India. The theater present Family Series shows year-round, as well as a number of performances for adult audiences. The Center focuses on three areas: performance, education and museum. It is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to the art form of puppetry. The Center, located in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, was founded in 1978 by Vincent Anthony. Since 1978, the Center has introduced millions of visitors to the wonder and art of puppetry and has touched the lives of many through enchanting performances, curriculum-based workshops and the hands-on Museum, as well as Distance Learning and Outreach Programs. The Center for Puppetry Arts is a unique cultural treasure - a magical place where children and adults are educated, enlightened and entertained.
